SPECIAL NOTICE: Master Plan Survey - The Carlisle Master Plan Virtual Survey is online. Weigh in on the vision, values, and goals of the plan. Survey ends Monday, July 12, so don’t delay! Link here to take the survey. Call the COA if you need assistance.
 
SPECIAL NOTICE: Wheelchair Ramp - The COA has an aluminum wheelchair ramp for one step available for anyone who needs to borrow it. Call the COA if interested.
 
SPECIAL NOTICE: FREE Eggs - Kacy Hurley (Carlisle resident) is offering her surplus of chicken eggs every week to seniors. Kacy has containers to package dozens and half dozens. NOTE: There are several 1/2 dozens in a cooler in her driveway TODAY!!!! Contact Kacy directly at Kacylanehurley@gmail.com to arrange for pickup at her house.

SPECIAL NOTICE: CD/DVD Players -  An anonymous donor is willing to donate CD/DVD players for seniors. Another donor has a collection of CD/DVD's they are willing to donate. Contact the COA if you have any interest.

Saturday, July 10 A Walk through Thoreau’s Concord - 11:00am-12:30pm Concord Museum - Take a tour of the domestic side of Thoreau’s wholly human life visiting the homes where he lived and hearing the stories told of him by family and friends. 1-mile walk, mostly flat sidewalk or pavement, rain or shine. $15 fee. Tuesday, July 20 US and the Great Depression 1:00pm via Zoom - Presented FREE by the Acton COA - This lecture by historian Paolo Di Gregorio will tell the story of the Great Depression, a time that transformed America. Following the prosperity and good times of the Jazz Age, the nation was plunged into the deepest and longest lasting economic downturn in our history. As economic conditions worsened and unemployment rose, the American people struggled to persevere. Yet the struggle, in many ways, forged a resilient and energetic generation. Wednesday, July 21 The Big Band/Swing Music Era - 1:00pm via Zoom - Presented FREE by the Acton COA - Join John Clark in this multimedia presentation on the Big Band era that officially started in the summer of 1935 but the transition from hot jazz and Dixieland had begun much earlier in the decade. Thursday, July 22 COA Summer Lunch - Times TBD; Drive-Thru at Fire Station & Dining at St. Irene - Celebrate summer with a BBQ lunch, featuring a barbecued chicken breast, corn on the cob, and a baked potato—compliments of the COA. Either drive-thru & pick up or dine-in at St. Irene. The New New Orleans Jazz Band will liven up the scene with their swinging, stomping, syncopated beat that will make you want to dance!
