After only one week the new paddlers already feel like part of the Canoe Club family. Coaches have been teaching the basic skills for racing canoes and kayaks, K1 & C1, K2 & C2, K4 & C4, and the 15 person Canadian War Canoe.
Paddlers are on track with the skills to take part in their first fun-regatta that ends every 2-week summer session. The 2nd Friday morning will have the Intro Paddlers join the full summer team for races in front of the canoe club. Friday morning starts at regular time (9AM) with events starting by 10AM and going to 12PM. We encourage spectators with loud cheering voices.
If you love the Calgary Canoe Club and the paddler lifestyle, read here:
We hope that you had a wonderful two weeks and your paddler had as much fun as we did. If they enjoyed the Intro to Sprint program, they are welcome to join the Sprint Team for the remainder of the summer and stay with us all year long.
Our program is very popular and you may notice some programs are sold out. As a returning paddler, WE DO have space for you. If you run into this problem email us and we can invoice you directly. Note that the Sprint Team requires a membership fee be paid ($100 for under 18). Email us at admin@calgarycanoeclub.com
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We aim to respond to emails within 24 hours. Parents should alert the coaches if they're not attending a particular day or session. Email to: sprint@calgarycanoeclub.com.
AIR QUALITY ALERT
Due to the increase in smoke we are monitoring the air quality health index.
Activities are being adapted to avoid strenuous activity.
Participation is optional for all program members, please notify your coach if you will not be attending.
As per poor weather conditions we will provide notice asap if we intend to close the Club. If you are at risk for more severe symptoms please let us know and stay home if you have any concerns

HELP CCC get new boats & maybe WIN BIG!
Considering the current AHS guidance, we have opened a small number of additional spaces and are again using crew boats (multiple paddlers in the same craft). CCC operates within AHS guidelines but if you are not comfortable with the CCC daily environment, please let us know.
Athletes are not to attend if:
In the past 14 days, they had exposure to a person with a probable or confirmed case of Covid-19.
** Our team takes pride in creating a friendly, supportive and. competitive culture. Thanks to all athletes and parents and volunteers for the effort this takes, it is worth it **
Questions and Info:
