Our Wonderful LCTC Family,

We have missed you all very much and hope this email finds you well. We're very excited that theatre is coming back, and we cannot wait to see you all again soon.

While this has been a year without live theatre, LCTC has used this time to really take a look who we are as a company and what kind of company we want to be in the future. It is an ongoing process and we are looking forward to all of you being a part of it. We have some exciting ideas about how we can grow this company while still holding true to our identity of being a home for original and important LGBTQ+ theatre. This year has also been one of personal reflection and growth, and of each of us coming to a new understanding of what we each need in our own lives. And so it is with sadness that we have to announce that, after 3 years, David Rice has stepped down as Artistic Director of LCTC.

David would like to leave you all with this message:

"It’s been an amazing three years and I’m so happy with everything we all managed to create at LCTC during this time. I’m particularly proud of our anthology series “Besties”, our full length “Most Fabulous Story Ever Told”, and our first in-house created full-length play “Come Here Often”.  We hope to see a revival of that show in the near future.

"I’ve been honored to have guided the artistic vision of this amazing company these years and cannot wait to see the remarkable things that Neil and Erica have in store for the future.  I’m sure I’ll see you at a show or reading in the future."

We on the Steering Committee thank David for all of his hard work, artistic insight, and love for this company. If there is a silver lining to be found in this, it's that we are excited to announce our new Interim Artistic Director, Neil Higgins. Neil has this to say:

"I have worked with many, if not all, of you and am so very proud of what we've created together. LCTC is a theatre company, yes, but really it is a group of very passionate and talented people who have made something special. I'm so very excited to be stepping into this position just as theatre is returning to the Bay Area, and I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of fostering and growing the artistic vision of this company. I have already begun work on our current (albeit truncated) season and look forward to what we will accomplish next year and beyond."

As our beloved company members, we wanted to share this with you before we announce it to the public next week. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you feel the need, and we hope to see you all again very very soon!
Cheers,
THE LCTC TEAM
