As we contemplate our city's growth via the Housing Element, it's important to reflect on our past as well. This year the Menlo Park Historical Association is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Tuesday (7/20) night's City Council meeting includes Item H1, a proclamation recognizing the contributions this organization has made to Menlo Park. Here's to remembering our past as we look to the future.

The Menlo Park Historical Association was instrumental in the installation of a replica gate that now resides at Ravenswood and Alma and serves as the entrance to the Library/Civic Center/Burgess Park.

This item highlights the status of the 41 vacancies at the City of Menlo Park (out of 269.75 authorized full-time equivalent positions). Some of the open positions are due to staff turnover, many are positions that were authorized to be added back in the recent budget adoption (22.5 positions). Note: It will take quite a while for all of these positions to be filled.

SRI "Parkline" Project Community Meetings
Remaining Dates are July 24th at 11am and 28th at 6pm
At the June 22nd City Council meeting, SRI International, along with developer Lane Partners and architect STUDIOS, gave a brief overview of its project, "Parkline." SRI is holding two more in-person community meetings at their campus on July 24th and 28th to hear feedback and answer questions. The City of Menlo Park will have its own review process including meetings at the Planning Commission and City Council. Once the project plans have been officially submitted, the city will also develop its own project webpage. Stay tuned.
