In 2016, the Tampa Bay Partnership launched a task force to research, develop and publish a Regional Competitiveness Report for Tampa Bay.
Chuck Sykes, President and CEO of Sykes Enterprises, chaired the group of nearly 30 business leaders, and the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and United Way Suncoast became collaborative partners in the effort.
As the task force convened to explore peer and aspirational markets across the country, and develop the set of indicators that serve as our framework for regional prosperity, we also spent months seeking the input of a diverse group of government and nonprofit leaders. Five years (and four completed reports) later, we continue to rely on this group to provide feedback on the report, and offer their insights as to how we can improve.
In the past few weeks, we’ve met with more than 60 of these leaders in a series of roundtable conversations about the direction of the 2022 Regional Competitiveness Report. Overall, there is a high level of support for the work we’re doing and the data we’re measuring, but a few key themes continue to surface for future consideration.
Housing affordability, civic and political engagement, and kindergarten and college readiness land at the top of that list. There’s also a strong desire to better understand the impact of COVID-19 on these issues, as well as the disparities that exist based on race and ethnicity.
We’d like to hear from you as well.
Could you please take a few minutes to click on the link below and participate in a brief, 8-10 minute survey regarding our 2022 Regional Competitiveness Report? All responses will remain confidential, and will help guide the indicators we use to monitor and measure our region’s prosperity. (Check out the 2021 Regional Competitiveness Summary Report or the 2021 State of the Region Video if you need a refresher before taking the survey.)
Thank you in advance for your feedback and support.
