Whether you want to relax and soak up the sun, or have an action-packed school holiday, York is bursting with great things to do from now until 5th September.

See the six fun sporty sculptures on the Sporty Sculpture Trail, enjoy pop-up tipi bars, iconic running routes, free yoga classes, outdoor ping pong tables and more!

See your friends and family while supporting local venues at the colourful outdoor spaces across the city. On Parliament Street, THOR’s Tipi bar offer a range of tropical-inspired drinks and cosy evenings around fire pits. A number of your Shambles Market Food Court favourites, including Shambles Kitchen, KREP and Stam & Maria Greek Street Food, will be serving up their delicious street food from St Sampson’s Square for you to relax and enjoy the #TasteOfYork.

Explore York this summer with First Bus. Just download their app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, then purchase the First Summer Day or Group mTicket to get around town.

Missing the beach? Head to YO1 Beach Club - a brand-new family-friendly beach area located in Tower Gardens, with beach huts serving teas and coffees, ice creams, as well as an open barbecue serving a choice of delicious grilled food!

There’s so much to see, and a great deal more in York's beautiful surroundings  #LoveYork for longer. With measures in place for you to enjoy York safely, pre-booking is a must at many attractions and venues. If you want to visit York like a tourist -  Visitor Information Centre team will be on hand to give you a warm welcome and provide information on a range of areas including travel advice, guidance on what is open locally, and expert insight on the city – including leaflets and trail maps.

See all six fun Sporty Sculptures across York between 9th July - 5th September, from celebrating on a winner’s podium and driving a racing car, to posing with weights. Get outdoors, keep active and have some summer fun!

Thor's Tipi - Parliament Street

From 21st June until 5th September a pop-up THOR’s Tipi bar will be on Parliament Street offering a range of tropical-inspired drinks, cosy evenings around fire pits, and weekend DJ sets.

YO1 Beach Club

A brand-new family-friendly beach area located in Tower Gardens, open between Thursday 24th June and Sunday 5th September. Including beach huts serving teas and coffees, ice creams, as well as an open barbecue serving a choice of delicious grilled food!

Iconic Running Routes

Take in all the best city centre sights with two iconic running routes.

5K and a 10K devised in partnership with York Knavesmire Harriers.

Yoga Classes

Join free yoga classes in THOR’s Tipi each week in partnership with Emperor’s Gym. Kicking off from 14th July, classes run each Wednesday (07.30AM - 08.30AM) and Friday (08.30AM - 09.30AM) with pre-booking required by email to leisure@middletonsyork.co.uk
