You don’t think you’re asking for too much. All you want is a job that treats you fairly, where you are proud of the work you do, where you have a semblance of a life.
Crickets though. No interviews, no networking meetings, certainly no offers.
I want you to ask yourself these 3 questions:
- What is the result I want?
- What have I been doing to get that result?
- What needs to change about my approach?
You may not like the answer. In fact you may not like it so much it refuses to even come to the surface!
I asked a client these questions recently and here’s what they said:
- I want a job that has me working only 40 hours a week.
- I’ve been applying to jobs on LinkedIn using EasyApply. I look at other people to network but I don’t do anything with those names. I spend too much time trying to figure out what exactly I should be doing.
- Sending in actual customized resumes. Email people. Create a job search plan with actual things on it, not just ideas of things.
