Meet our 2021–22 poet-in-residence, Jessica Mehta
We're pleased to announce that interdisciplinary author and artist Jessica Mehta will be our new poet-in-residence. Mehta is the author of fifteen books, eleven of which are collections of poetry. Her latest collections, When We Talk of Stolen Sisters (Not a Pipe Publishing) and Antipodes (New Rivers Press), will be released this year. She is currently completing her PhD in literature at the University of Exeter in England. Read more »
 
Start sharpening your pencils... the Fall catalog is officially online!
We're thrilled to announce that this fall, we'll be reopening our doors for the first time in 18 months, to offer select in-person classes. If you're not from the Seattle area or can't make it into the city for class, have no fear: the majority of our classes this quarter will still take place online.

Scholarship applications for Fall are open through August 16, and general registration opens August 17.

Celebrate the power of storytelling! Join us for Eat Read Hugo, a virtual, one-hour program on Thursday, September 23, where we’ll showcase the talented voices of our teachers and students and hear from our interim executive director, Rob Arnold.

This fundraiser supports every aspect of our literary arts programming: free classes, community outreach, youth and adult scholarship programs, and more.

Race, History, and the Body (ASYNCHRONOUS)

How do writers document, perform, and resist through the body? In this class, we will write, using the body and found texts about the body as source and inspiration.
