July

Once again South Australia finds itself in lockdown as health officials grapple the very infectious Delta strain. We pray for compassion and patience as we work and school from home, and stay away from friends and family. While we are apart, God is present with us and still we worship.

In this newsletter you will see we have many events planned for August through to October, including:  We will keep you updated to any changes to these events, guided by the latest restrictions from the SA government.

We have also included a link to resources for worship at home during this time of isolation.

Peace,
Jenni, Neryl and Anne

POSTPONED!

We will let you know as soon as we have a new date for the concert.

Music has always played a role in worship, from the Israelites living in Exile to the Psalms to the church gathering together in Colossae to Gregorian chant to Wesleyan hymns to the pop rock of Hillsong, singing and music has been a way for people to meet with and offer praise and prayer to God.
Music is important in worship, it can enliven and deepen worship, and it can do the opposite. What we sing shapes our theology and our knowledge of God.
This full-day workshop will enable church musicians to gather together to engage in conversation, share experiences and ideas and resources. It offers an opportunity for church musicians to contemplate the how and why of having music in worship and their own practise.

When: Saturday 21st August, 10am - 4pm

Where: Rosefield Uniting Church
Cost: $50 for the day (includes morning and afternoon tea)
$120 for a group of 3 or more people from one congregation

In the fifth year of CMLA's Preaching Series we continue to explore the art and practice of preaching. In times like these, how might you grab hold of the gospel and find words that are responsive to and accessible for those who gather, and have context and meaning for those who don’t?

Monday mornings
9:30am - 11:00am
September 6 and 20, October 11 and 25
Cafe Fellini's, North Adelaide
Cost: $25 per session, $75 for all four
