We Thank You
Dear Friends of North Marin Community Services,
I want to personally thank you for helping us serve and support the 19 families directly impacted by the Wyndover Apartment Fire on April 20, 2021.
Your generosity touched our hearts and made a meaningful difference to all 19 families. Those affected by the fire included families with young children, families with school-aged children, adults and seniors and three people with disabilities. All are low-income.
Thanks to you and other generous donors, we have met our $35,000 challenge grant. We’re happy to report that as of July 7, 2021, there are no more families staying in hotels. Five families are back in permanent housing at Wyndover and five families are in temporary housing at Wyndover. Seven families remain with family or friends until they can return to Wyndover. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Our hardworking Case Management Team worked individually with each family to ensure they did not face homelessness or food insecurity during this time of vulnerability. Fund expenditures included expenses for short-term and extended hotel stays, emergency rental assistance, food, clothing, emergency financial assistance and case management services.
Our trauma-informed Case Management Team was integral in providing comprehensive care to those in need. Case Managers coordinated food deliveries, provided intensive care support, connected clients to mental health care and to coordinated services and partners including CalWorks, CalFresh, Bloom, Marin Center for Independent Living and Legal Aid Marin.
Friends of North Marin Community Services, we could not have helped these 19 families without your support and the support of our caring community. On behalf of our very grateful families, thank you for your kindness and compassion to our neighbors in need.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Williams
Director of Development
