Pray with us

The World
We pray for all those anxiously awaiting news of family members and loved ones still missing after the Miami building collapse, as hopes for their rescue fade. In Haiti, we pray for peace after the assassination of Jovenel Moise, their president amid increasing political instability and gang violence. We give thanks for the announcement that Australia will send vaccine doses, testing kits and ventilators to Indonesia where a new wave of the Delta variant of COVID-19 has caused record levels of infections and deaths; and we pray for people everywhere, as the World Health Organisation reveals that the Delta variant has been detected in more than 100 countries, bringing a warning against attempts to return to quickly to normality. We continue to pray for peace and level-headed diplomacy in the middle east where a Palestinian community in the West Bank has been demolished for the seventh time, and homes and farming equipment in the Jordan Valley have been destroyed by Israeli forces. Myanmar continues to see an escalation in fighting between the Military and protesters in what is described as a brutal campaign of violence, while the United Nations calls for the release of Aung San Suu Kyi, the elected leader imprisoned five months ago as a result of the military coup.

Our City and State
While findings continue to be confronting, we give thanks for continuing research that is highlighting dimensions of family violence in specific community areas; Pray that church leaders may think imaginatively about future directions for diminishing Churches.

The Anglican Communion
The Episcopal Church in the Philippines; The Bishop of Polynesia, Archbishop Fereimi Cama, Primate of the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia, has died, aged 66. Our condolences go to all those among whom he ministered. ACSC will “resource the whole Anglican Communion for courageous and confident spiritual leadership in issues involving science.

The Australian Anglican Church
Ministry to the Defence Force (Bishop Grant Dibden, Chaplains & Members of the Defence Forces); Continuing to seek a response to prevention of family violence, we are thankful for the Anglican Church commitments as a result the study within the faith community. As we end Naidoc Week, we are thankful for the emerging story of blending and balancing of Aboriginal spirituality with contemporary Christian faith.

The Diocese of Melbourne
Karingal - St Laurence Community Services; Holy Trinity Balaclava & Elwood (Kathryn Watt).

Our Cathedral
We pray that we will continue to work together to find creative ways to engage in ministry according to what the limitations will allow. Help us all to be more focused on what we can do, rather than what is still restricted, and guide us as we make plans for opportunities of being together.
