The Highland Council and HIE are leading the development of this Plan and they are keen to engage and represent everyone with an interest in the area’s future. That includes you and me! This is a chance for you to engage (or just listen) and to ensure that your views are represented.
Our speakers will be Scott Dalgarno (Development Plans Officer) and Keith Masson (Climate Change and Energy Team Manager) both of the Highland Council. SkyeConnect will also be represented. Plenty time for questions, suggestions and discussion. Come and find out what it's all about, how it can contribute to a sustainable future for Skye and Raasay, and how you can keep in the loop.

Repair workshop + picnic
Saturday 17th July, 11am – 3pm
Hosted by Paul and Becky, 9 Torrin Holidays
Join us for an outdoor meeting and picnic as we continue to develop our
ideas for enabling a repair and re-use culture on Skye.
Bring along things to be assessed and /or fixed. Clothes, toys, tools,
laptops, appliances, furniture, soft furnishings etc. You can ask advice
of the others there or demonstrate the assessment and mending technique
yourself. Bring something for your own lunch to minimise hygiene
concerns. Tea and coffee will be available.
Please could you let Becky, Paul
beckyplasticfree@btinternet.com and
Anne
anne@skyeclimateaction.org know if you plan to come along,
and what you might bring with you.
If you can’t come this time, but want to stay in the loop or make some
comments, do get in touch with Anne.
Skye Climate Action Conversation with Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks
Tuesday 20th July, 6-7.30pm
Skye Climate Action and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) have begun a conversation about community engagement and potential future community energy benefits. We invite SCA supporters to contribute to this journey at a
virtual public meeting with SSEN. E.ON, the electric utility company, will also be there.
SSEN has selected Skye as one trial site to test new systems aimed at reducing interruptions and power cuts, and with reduced environmental impacts.
Come along to find out more about the proposals and join in the conversation.
Please email
Henrik Micski for the MS teams link for the meeting. See the article in our
last newsletter for background information.
