Council freezes hire charges for community halls

Buckhurst Hill Parish Council has decided to freeze hire charges for its two community halls - Roding Valley Hall and The Woollard Centre - for the current financial year.

Finance and establishment committee chairman councillor Matt West told last Thursday's committee meeting: "I can't see any reason (to increase the charges). It would be madness."

* The committee also voted to freeze the charges to advertise in the council's magazine.
