Complete Hunger Free Colorado’s CEP roundtable discussions survey

Adopting the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) allows districts to serve free school meals to all students through school year 2024-25. Hunger Free Colorado and CDE are organizing monthly roundtable discussions where we’ll dive deep into different CEP topics with experienced CEP operators to support your team in exploring whether CEP is the right fit for your district. Do you want to know more about maximizing Identified Student Percentages (ISPs)? Find out how CEP is related to Title and state funding? How to conduct financial analysis? Complete the survey today and tell us what topics you want on the agenda.

Contact Emily Pia at emily.pia@hungerfreecolorado.org with questions.

PROGRAM UPDATES

2021 At-Risk Count Audit Resource Guide now available

The CDE School Auditing Office has updated the At-Risk Count Audit Resource Guide to include important items for school year 2021-22. The guide contains everything districts need to know about the annual CDE October Count and the auditing surrounding it. Notable changes for this school year include the addition of the reduced-price category to be included in the count (page 2) and the clarification that only districts submitting data for Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Transfer eligibility are able to collect and process applications; all other districts are able to collect Family Economic Data Survey (FEDS) Forms (p. 9). The resource can be found on the School Meal Eligibility webpage and the CDE At-Risk/Free Lunch Count webpage

For questions, contact Rebecca McRee at mcree_r@cde.state.co.

CDE School Nutrition has developed P-EBT Mini Grants Instructions and FAQ (PDF) with instructions on how to apply for P-EBT mini grants, the tiered funding approach, and frequently asked questions. This document is available on the School Meal Eligibility webpage

Please note the second round of P-EBT mini grants closes on Friday, July 30. Visit the P-EBT Mini-Grant Application webpage for more information.
