THE SPEAKERS

Suzanne Muir, Director Workforce Policy for the Market Capability Group, Department of Social Services

presenting on the NDIS National Workforce Plan

The highly anticipated release of the NDIS National Workforce Plan in June this year outlined the Government's commitment over the next four years to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in working with participants, industry and stakeholders to grow a responsive and capable workforce

As Director for the Workforce Policy team Suzanne Muir is leading the implementation of the Plan, which aims to capitalise on the work already undertaken by governments and industry, build sustainable, flexible and high-quality services and attract thousands of new workers to the sector.

Suzanne is well placed to deliver the Plan,
with vast experience across Commonwealth Government and policy roles in the Department of Health and Department of Home Affairs.

Register for the WorkAbility Forum to hear Suzanne discuss objectives within the Plan and how it is set to benefit organisations, workers and participants of the NDIS.

Joann Pyne, Chief Academic Officer, TAFE Queensland

presenting on the future of micro credentials

As the largest, most experienced training provider in the state TAFE Queensland delivers more than 500 nationally-recognised qualifications across 50 locations.  A recent addition to its learning suite are 14 micro credentials.

It is clear that micro credentials are here to stay within education; offering industries faster and more innovative ways to upskill and train staff as workforces are required to become more adaptable to ever-changing economic environments such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), COVID-19 and industry reforms.

Chief Academic Officer for TAFE Queensland Joann Pyne leads academic governance processes for the RTO and also Chairs the TAFE Queensland Academic Board which administers TAFE Queensland’s RTO and CRICOS scope of registration and higher education offerings.

Register for the WorkAbility Forum to hear Joann share what the future of learning looks like for TAFE Queensland, what micro credentials are on the horizon and how we can work together to upskill our Industry through this method.
