Forest Management

Mike and Debbie Hickey, woodlot owners located in Nawigewauk (outside Hampton NB), have a youtube channel titled "Mike and Debbie Hickey From the Woodlot".   The latest video from the channel had a guest from SNB - Neil Damon.  Neil and Mike discuss management options for private woodlot owners, watch here.

Stumpage Report

The Forest Products Commission produces an annual report on New Brunswick Private woodlot stumpage values.  The latest report prepared by the commission (2020) can be found here.

You will notice that the stumpage report uses averages in $/M3.  Most stumpage agreements made between contractors and landowners on private are done in $/gmt, $/cord and/or $/mbf.  Stay tuned for next week's update as we will convert these averages to help owners and producers better understand the report.
