5 Ways to Reading
What wonderful children we have!
They are able to talk about how they learn to read and why it is important to read every day.
This week we will be listening to each other read, our friends or staff.
What will you choose to read or share with others?

5 Ways to Wellbeing
This weeks theme is be active!
So, today, why not get physical?
Here are a few ideas:
- Take the stairs not the lift
- Walk A Mile at lunchtime
- Walk into school – so you can ‘connect’ with family
- Park the car a block away and walk the final part of your journey to school
- Organise a sporting activity with your family at home
- Have a kick-about in a local park
- Do some ‘easy exercise’, like stretching, before you leave for school in the morning.

Forest School
Some classes have adventured to our Forest School this week.
They had fun making nature sculptures in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
They also built dens, mini-beast homes and much, much more.

SMSC
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Number 1: We all have the right to our own thoughts and
ideas and we should all be treated fairly.
Number 30: Nobody can take these rights and freedoms away
from us. They belong to everyone.
What makes you who you are?
Is it your interests and hobbies?
Your talents?
How about your beliefs or appearance?
Equality is about treating everyone the same. It is not about giving certain people 'special treatment' or 'extra rights'.
It means treating everyone as individuals, with respect and consideration. It is about acknowledging and appreciating
diversity and difference.
The opposite of equality is discrimination.
Everyone has a right to live happily and be free from discrimination.
How can your class treat everyone equally?

Sports
To keep everyone safe, we have not had a traditional sports day this year but classes have continued to be sporty in their class bubbles and at home.
Well done to the children for their positive attitudes during in school and remote at home Sports Day.
Stay active and maybe set up your own obstacle course or exercise stations in the garden at home.
Reports will be distributed by Tuesday 13.07.2021
Open Afternoon- will be the week 12.07.2021 each class will have a slot (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thur) please click the timetable below for full details.
Thank you for your patience.
Uniforms
When we return to school in September our children will wear their winter uniform.
Black school shoes are part of the school uniform.
Please do not purchase trainers - (This includes black trainers)!
This applies to all children in all year groups!
Thank you

School Laptops or Touch Screen Devices
If you have borrowed a school laptop during lockdown then now is the time to return it.
Very soon they will not function as they do now, and without an update (that we need to complete by mid July) they will be come useless.
Please return to the main office. So we can update them and the the children won't miss out!
Thank you for your help.

If your child needs to be off school for reasons other than illness you must make a request using the following form. School will decide if the request will be authorised and send you a letter.
Any pupil having an absence without making a request will be classed as unauthorised – so it’s really important that you inform us!
|
|
Attendance - Reporting Absences
|
|
|
Reporting ALL absences is even more important at the moment. This helps us to keep the building Covid-19 secure.
Parents please make sure you follow our procedures, so we don't have to isolate any bubbles.
Please telephone school on 0151 477 8400 on the first day of absence. You can also send an email to Admin@smaaa.info
Tell our admin staff the reason for the absence, and when you expect your child to return to school.
All unexplained absences will be looked at by our Attendance Lead, & possibly the School Attendance Service, so it's really important that you report all absences by 10am on the first day of absence!
Remember if your child is off school due to illness, hospital or dental appointments, you must also send an email with a copy of the medical letter / proof to Admin@smaaa.info
We cannot authorise any absence without proof!

|

Bringing Items Into School.
Can we please remind parents and children that items from home (Such as Teddy Bears, Toys, Stationery, Fidget Spinners etc.) should not be brought into school.
We must keep the building COVID-19 secure, to keep all our families safe!
|
|
Remember:
If anyone in a household is sick or showing signs of illness;
nobody from the household should come near school.
If someone is waiting for a Covid-19 test result
the whole household should not come near school!
If anyone in household has a cough, temperature, or loss of smell,
then a PCR test is needed, at a test centre, lateral flow tests cannot be used!
We do not want anyone put at risk!
