1. It’s Time – for this year’s Knysna Oyster Festival “Limited Edition”
We hope you have your festival coloured decorations up to add to the vibe in town.  The behind the scenes work has been done and it is now time to (hopefully) reap the rewards by hosting visitors to the greater Knysna area.
The Programme (totally based on level-4-regulations) is available on www.KnysnaOysterFestival.co.za and additional outing offerings and information can be found on www.VisitKnysna.co.za.
Read the latest press release here.

Of utmost importance is to please ensure that you and all those around you comply to the regulations at any give time and ensure your protocols remain in place.  We CAN host this “Limited Edition” very successfully, proving that we can travel and holiday during the pandemic:  we need to prove that our tourism and hospitality industry is not an aggravator to the spread of the virus.  Hence the reason in pioneering on towards a successful delivery of this year’s Knysna Oyster Festival “Limited Edition”.  Be safe – and enjoy.
2. Knysna Interactive Art Route – an exciting, ongoing community project
Thank you to everyone involved for their contribution thus far towards the continued roll out of this exciting project that was originally initiated by Visit Knysna and their engagement with the Knysna Art Society.  The interest in these developments is giving the greater Knysna area great exposure.  Please bear in mind that this is an ongoing project, so if anyone or any business would like to sponsor a landmark installation, you’re welcome to engage with the Knysna Art Society through https://www.knysnaarts.com/.

3. DEDAT Survey – the impact of the lockdown
The Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism is conducting a snap poll to gauge the immediate impacts of the lockdown level 4 regulations on the tourism industry in the Western Cape.  Please URGENTLY complete the quick survey. Read more here
4. Western Cape – Health
We have been asked to request your assistance in ensuring that your business’s age-related staff are registered for and receive the vaccine, as the system unfolds and allows.  The more vaccinated people we have, the greater the opportunity of opening up our industry. We have also received the updated “How to Isolate” poster, for printing and display at your facility. Read more here
5. SATSA Communications
SATSA is hosting a webinar on “Rebuilding Tourism and Hospitality Sustainably” that will look at the usual greening, responsibility, sustainability guidelines but include newer approaches around regeneration and circularity for the way we manage our environments and our properties.  Should you wish to know more and join the webinar, please read here and follow the link therein to register.
The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible.
- Charles Kingsleigh
Take care, stay safe and please continue to observe protocols.
