FROM THE PRESIDENT
Welcome to BPW 2021-2022
"Never Stop Dreaming"
Hello again ladies. Summer is here and I hope you are enjoying the weather and getting out a little more. Things are definitely different than this time last year. Hopefully we are heading in the right direction to get our lifestyle back to normal.
I'm thrilled that so many of us are able to meet in person. I missed you all terribly! I'm really excited about our Fun Night. We have 30 ladies attending, with several guests who might become members. I want to continue having fun events so that we can build our presence in the community as well as our membership.
We have our Merchants On The Greens Scholarship Fundraiser coming up on Friday, July 23rd, 6-8pm. One thing you can do to help is contact everyone you know who is a vendor or has a food truck. We are not getting the response we were hoping for to be cost effective for this event. Tammy and the committee have been working hard on putting it together, but we are lacking vendors and food trucks and may have to cancel. We are competing against the Centralia Summer Market which has been scheduled for the next day. We did not know about this event when we scheduled ours. We have lost several vendors who are doing the Summer Market instead. So, please contact Tammy with suggestions of anyone you know who is a vendor or owns a food truck. So that we don't have to cancel this event.
To all our members I want to thank you for your dedication to our group and for everything you do to further our mission. It's our strength and our unity in our Sisterhood that holds us together. Let us cling to that and try to build our organization to be the best that we can be. I'm counting on you!
Until we meet again,
Carrie Perkins-Schnicker, President

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Cost: Free (Dinner Included)
We will have our Leadership meeting at Cedarhurst Museum in Mt. Vernon IL on Saturday July 31st at 10 AM. We will have this gorgeous venue to ourselves and have a guided tour of the grounds and sculpture park (with golf carts) immediately following our meeting. The key note speaker is Tammy Henry. She speaks internationally and we are very lucky to have her. There will also be an award presentation for our two Outstanding Working Woman of Illinois recipients. Our very own Traci Macz, and Monte Joe Clark from Mount Vernon will receive their awards.
That evening from 6 PM to 9 PM we will have a membership recruitment party/Ladies Night at the Granada in Mount Vernon. There will be a dinner, cash bar, a chance to show off our fabulous cocktail attire, and be entertained by a live band. We will have the opportunity to celebrate with our OWWI winners and spend some time with each other that we missed out on during Covid, and hopefully get to know some potential new members.
The leadership registration fee is $20, and the party and dinner that night will be of no cost to you except for the cash bar. If you will be bringing a guest to the Granada, please let IFBWC President Amanda Burk know so she can give an accurate count to the caterer. If you want a hotel room, we do have a block of rooms set aside at the Holiday Inn in Mt. Vernon for $119 a night if you tell them you are with IFBWC when booking. Contact email for Amanda is: admin@ifbwc.org. You can register by going to the State Website.
