The Maryland Chapter, American College of Surgeons (MD-ACS) has been asked to submit three candidates to be considered by the State EMS Board (whose members will select one representative from the MD-ACS) to serve on the Statewide Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council.
The Statewide Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council (SEMSAC) is a 31-member statutorily authorized body that advises and assists the State Emergency Medical Services Board (Education Article § 13-511 Maryland Code An.) SEMSAC members are appointed by the State EMS Board with the approval of the Governor.
As defined by statute, one of the SEMSAC members is to be a representative of the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
