GWI Organizational Development Steering Committee
Call for Participation
GWI recently announced that a committee will be convened with representatives from GWI National Federations and Associations (NFAs) to develop plans to expand GWI’s financial resource base and impact by developing new institutional partnerships. This committee will be chaired by past president, Geeta Desai, and needs women who are committed to GWI’s vision, forward-thinking and solution-focused to be a part of this dynamic process.

Please review the June 23, 2021 GWI Town Hall presentation here for more information about the proposed GWI Steering Committee for Organizational Development and the July 1 letter calling for committee members here. Committee membership will require a significant investment of time.

The CFUW representative will be supported by CFUW national resources, namely the VP International Relations, the National Office and the International Relations Committee.

The anticipated period of this committee’s action is from August 2021 to May 2022.  Applications will be reviewed by the IR committee who will make recommendations to the Board for approval. To ensure the process is fair and objective, names and club/s will not be included in scoring the submissions.

If you are not a member of an opt-in club but wish to support GWI, you have the option of becoming a dual member of a GWI supporting club.

Please complete this expression of interest form no later than July 21, 2021; 4 pm, EST.  Click here to access the form. No late applications can be considered. Thank you for your interest.

- Joy Hurst, VP International Relations
Dual CFUW Club Membership

For a variety of reasons, CFUW members may want to join more than one club.

All CFUW clubs can accept dual members.  They do not need to adopt any club rules, policies or bylaws to do so. CFUW club membership qualifications are enumerated in Schedule 1 of the CFUW Articles and Bylaws, and all clubs are must follow these membership requirements.  Schedule 1, #6* provides for membership in more than one CFUW club (dual membership) and requires the member to pay CFUW per capita dues in one club (the primary club).  Any other club in which she is a member should deduct the CFUW per capita dues ($76 for 2021-22 and $55 beginning May 1, 2022) from the total club dues.

*6. A woman who is a member of more than one CFUW Club shall pay national dues to only one club

Questions: Articles and Bylaws and the Clubs

The National Office and the Board continue to receive questions about the option to allow Clubs to be counted, or not to be counted, for the GWI per capita dues calculation.  Some Clubs are concerned about how this affects their Club Constitution and/or Articles and Bylaws.  If you have any questions in this regard, forward your questions to our ED, Robin Jackson (cfuwed@rogers.com) and cc President Kathryn Wilkinson (wilkinsons@rogers.com).  The questions will be forwarded to the appropriate person for a response.

Update your Club Directory by July 26, 2021
It's that time of year again! We are working on the Club directory for the 2021-2022 year. Having an updated directory is important for keeping our Club communications up-to-date! We urge that your executive submit your directory information by July 26, 2021. Instructions can be found below. Regardless of whether or not you have any changes this year, please report this to Rachel at cfuwgen@rogers.com. If you have any questions or need any assistance, again please email Rachel at cfuwgen@rogers.com.

Updating the Directory

To login, visit the membership site: http://cfuwmembership.org/Account/Login.aspx you will need your club's username and password. If you are a club executive and do not have your club's login information, please email Member Services at cfuwgen@rogers.com. You will find the login button at the top right of this screen.

Once you are logged in, you have a few options for updating club information:

  1. To update general club information such as the club address, main telephone number, etc. go to the "Clubs" tab (this only appears after you are logged in, so if you don't see it, you are not logged in). Under the Clubs Tab, a drop-down menu will appear. Please choose the first item, "Update Club Contact Information." The club information will appear in a grey box on this page. Click the small grey "edit" button at the bottom of this grey box to edit this screen. If you wish to download this information to your computer, there is an option to do so using a button at the bottom of the page. We strongly encourage you to input your clubs social media address next to the Facebook and Twitter Logo.

**Please note that the main contact information for the club is almost always information belonging to an executive member, so if you are updating the executives' information, it is likely that you will need to look over and update the club's main contact information.

  1. To update or enter club executives' information, you'll want to click the second item in the drop-down menu under the "Clubs" tab: "Club Executive Peoples list." You'll see a list of names on this screen. To enter a new person or someone who isn't listed, you will find empty fields at the bottom of this list. This is not where you will assign positions to individuals, but it is simply where you list new people before assigning them their position.

You cannot delete anyone from this list if they are currently holding an executive position: you will get an error. You can tell who in this list has a position if you look at the far right of their listing. If there is a number under "Has Position," clicking "Delete" next to their name will not delete them. In the next step, you will see how to delete people who are no longer on the Club Executive.

  1. To assign positions to individuals listed in step 2 (on the "Enter or Update Club Executive People list"), return to the "Clubs" tab and now click "Executive Positions." Here you will see a list of individuals and their assigned positions. If you wish to delete a person who is listed with an executive position, you can do so on this screen. Then, if you would like to delete them completely from the membership site, you can go back to "Club Executive People s list" in step two and delete them there. If you'd like to assign a position to someone you've entered in step 2, or to someone who was already listed, you can do so at the bottom of this page using the drop-down menus. If you'd like to assign a position to someone who does not appear in the drop-down menu, you must first list them and fill in their information (see step two).

We appreciate you keeping us up-to-date with your club info and thank you for your time. Please contact Members Services if you have any questions: send an email to cfuwgen@rogers.com.

Once the changes have been made, please notify member services, cfuwgen@rogers.com.
