This year, we're not just offering Touch Tank Hut visits - you can also sign up for our outdoor programs!
For $20, you and up to 6 of your friends and family can participate in one of our 30-minute activities. Here are short descriptions of each of our four programs - but keep an eye out for more as the summer goes on!

Shell We Paint?! 🎨
All ages, especially the little ones!
A hands-on discovery of different animal shells that can be found along Nova Scotia's coast (and why we should leave them there!). Each participant gets to paint an oyster shell that they can take home (and learn why that shell is okay to take!)

Coastal Geology Rocks ⛏️
Recommended age: 7+
Take a dive into the geology of coastal Nova Scotia! Explore our specimens hands-on to discover what makes rocks in Halifax different from rocks at Peggy's Cove, and how they came to be!

Discovering Diving 🤿
Recommended age: 10+
How does scuba diving work and what types of jobs require it? Let’s find out while getting hands-on and creating your own little scuba diver!

Clean It Up! 🧽
Recommended age: 10+
Come join us for a hands-on experience on how to clean up oil spills! This program will cover what oil spills are and why they're dangerous to marine life, while also exploring the methods and materials used to clean them up.

Safety Protocols and Cancellations ☎️
|
|
We want to make sure that everybody has a safe and enjoyable time at the Touch Tank Hut this summer! To make sure of that, we have COVID safety protocols in place:
Your party must be limited to 7 people, including children under 2 years old.
We ask that everyone where a mask for the duration of their visit inside the Touch Tank Hut and during programs. While programs take place outside, social distancing not possible. Children under 2 are not required to wear a mask.
We ask that you please:
- Self-monitor for COVID symptoms prior to your visit.
- Notify us and cancel your registration if anyone in your family experience COVID-19 like symptoms. This includes a cough (new or exacerbated chronic), headaches, fever, sore throat, marked fatigue, sneezing, congestion, body aches, runny nose.
- Notify us and cancel your registration if you travelled outside of Nova Scotia, PEI or Newfoundland and Labrador within 14 days of the program or have come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
- You will be offered a refund if you need to cancel due to a COVID-19 reason.
Any cancellations made within 24 hours of the program cannot be reimbursed, however we will gladly issue you a charitable tax receipt for the amount paid!
Cancellations prior to that timeframe may be done through the confirmation email that you received or via phone at 902-221-5290.

Now that you know how to book your visit to the Touch Tank Hut, the last step is finding us. We have good news for you - it's easy!
We are located at Alderney Landing, at 2 Ochterloney Street in Dartmouth. Look for the bright teal building beside the marina. If you're facing the water, it's on the right side of the parking lot!
