I am reaching out to members of the FUM community,and supporters of Nikki Holland to ask that you please hold her in prayer as her body is reacting to a severe allergic response following a second Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccination. Her doctor in Belize City referred her to an allergist, and since there are none in Belize, he sent her to the closest one, in Merida, Mexico. On August 9 she met with specialists. Her lab work indicates she has a severe infection. The doctor told her that her blood looks the same as people who are hospitalized with Covid-19. A primary concern at this point, aside from the actual issue, is that the immune response to the allergy is so extreme that the rest of her immune system has been knocked completely off-line. Currently, the doctor also prescribed a regimen of medication and ordered more lab work. If there is no improvement, the doctor will refer her to a hematologist.
Belize Friends School is reopening this week, but Nikki will remain at home, self-isolating, and resting. Please pray for Nikki during these challenging days. Pray for God’s healing mercy and that her body will respond well to the medications prescribed to her. Pray that God will grant her His peace and patience as she allows time for her body to recover and as she is eager to return to the school.
