Transfer Station temporarily closed

Just a reminder that the Transfer Station at Wellington’s Southern Landfill is temporarily closed on weekdays while the roof replacement is carried out – but it's open as usual at weekends. Work is progressing steadily and should be all done before the end of July. The closure impacts residential customers dropping-off general, hazardous and green waste, but commercial waste operators are not affected. The Tip Shop, Recycle Centre and Capital Compost are still open during the week.

Feedback invited on review of activities in public places

We are reviewing the policies that set the framework for managing trading and event activities in public places. Currently there are two policies that govern these activities and the Council is proposing to integrate both into one Trading and Events in Public Places Policy. The new combined draft policy will be much broader in scope and set out the rules and guidance on how activities on all public spaces are managed. Find more info and ways to have your say in our story.
