This week's sermon:

"A Scripture We Would Rather Skip Over"

Mark 6:14-29

Rev. Russ Boyd preaching

This week's scripture shares the disturbing story of Herod and John the Baptist. How should we treat stories that many of us would rather skip over? Join us for worship on Sunday to find out how we might approach difficult stories like this.

Progress continues on construction throughout the church to make improvements to the sanctuary and rebuild after damage from burst pipes in February. This week painting began in hallways, classrooms, and offices after the completion of sheetrock last week; new cabinets were installed in the youth room's kitchen; and a crew also began construction of a drainage system for the courtyard to prevent flooding in History Hall.

Additional work has been completed on upgrades to our sanctuary's audiovisual system, allowing us to incorporate multimedia elements into the service and offer an improved livestream experience for those worshipping from home. Our hope is that this helps create a more seamless connection between those worshipping in the sanctuary and those worshipping via the livestream, reminding us that we are one congregation.

A huge thank you to Don Lanza, BJ Turner, Gerald & Linda Marcell and all of our property team who has spend countless hours working on this. If you would like to contribute towards either of these projects, donations can be made at

Worship in the Sanctuary
I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. - Psalm 122

Throughout Covid our mission as a church has been to love God and love our neighbors in ways that keep each other safe. This has led us to learn how to be the church and worship in ways that we would have never imagined two years ago. We have pivoted and shifted to new ways of gathering many times this year. We have learned that God is everywhere, and that nothing can stop us from sharing God's love!

As vaccination rates are rising and Covid numbers are declining in our community we are thrilled to again worship in the sanctuary, a place that is holy ground for so many of us! We will continue to livestream the service online through Facebook and YouTube to ensure that everyone can worship in a way that feels comfortable.
