“What’s up with all the stories in your emails, Noman?”

I’ve been sending more stories in my emails.

Some understand this. And, some don’t.

So here’s an email about why more stories for those who don’t understand why I’m sending more stories. And, for those who understand, Why you should focus more on your stories.

In Two Words.

Stories Sell.

Long Answer.

Our brains are hardwired to listen to stories. It is why people watch movies, read novels, and hang out with friends.

We crave stories.

If you ever analyze your purchase decisions, you’ll realize you’ve made them based on your emotions and later justified them with logic.

Take any iPhone user. The positioning of the iPhone talks about innovation, creativity, and thinking different.

It connects with the feeling of significance.

And the purchase decision is made on these emotions. But when we ask why you choose an iPhone, you get justified with logic.

So when it comes to selling, stories spark emotions. These emotions sell

You obviously need to have a good logical reason for your customer to help them justify.

Russel Brunson, Author of Dotcom Secrets, writes about the importance of entertaining emails.

He says he noticed more opening rates and more click rates with entertaining emails aka Seinfeld emails.

When you bombard your audience with too many insights, your audience might start to schedule your emails and start thinking of your emails as too much work.

So stay relaxed and play around. Provide value and entertainment.

Till Next Time,
Noman Shaikh.

P. S. My copywriting mentor, Robert Lucas, has launched an email copywriting course called “Stories That Sell”. It is probably the best resource for anyone who keeps thinking about how to write interesting stories and make money doing this.
No, I'm not an affiliate. I genuinely found the course valuable, anyone would.
