A HEART FOR GENERATIONS
HIM ELDER'S MESSAGE
Hello everyone. Welcome to this time of sharing. I am Ps Denis and I am pastoring Hope Kuching. Now, over the years, I’ve been very blessed to see lives being transformed because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Especially in the lives of young people. Today, I want to share my heart on the next generation and generations.

I have been so blessed to have Ps Simon and Sis Lai Eng to be my spiritual parents all these years and of course, over time, I have grown in my life and it has been such an amazing and rewarding life-changing experience.

My heart’s desire is that all of our generations can experience the quality relationship between a spiritual father or a spiritual mother with the spiritual sons and daughters. This is the heritage that comes from the heart of God, our Father. Yes, we call God our Father and that is at the very essence of the body of Christ and that is the essence of our HIM family as well. So, today I want to appeal to every pastor, coordinator, leader, shepherd, member and believer, brothers and sisters in Christ; from those who are in their 70s and 80s right down to the younger ones who are between 20 years old or even younger. It is time for us in every church to have a heart of fathers and mothers. To begin to nurture not only the next generation in terms of age within our church but to see generations of people out there, those who are yet to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. It is time for us to think generations.

So, that will demand a great shift in our focus. It is no longer focusing on ourselves, my church, my ministry but rather it becomes a focus on generations. How do we reach many generations that are around us? I want to close by sharing one statement that a pastor made, which has been ingrained in my heart until today. He said this, “Whoever wants the next generation the most, will get them.” That statement really struck me because the world, the devil, has so much in his strategies, plans and schemes to try to get the next generations so that they will enter a dark destiny without God. As God’s people, it is time for us to say, “God, give me a great desire for every generation, to see every generation come to know Jesus Christ.” We can all begin by caring for one person and building that mentoring relationship.

So, I want to invite all of us to take this to our heart because it is really a message of discipleship as well. It is really about passing on our spiritual heritage and our spiritual legacy from one generation to another generation and to another generation and beyond that as well.
