Today's Survivor Wisdom

"Walk in Nature every day. It wakes up the senses and the soul."

-Kris Ryan,
GYN cancer survivor
Wind River Alum

Survivor Story

Kris is a wonderful ovarian survivor and Wind River alum of 2018 who has the most amazing "can do" attitude!  And at the heart of her sparkle, she shares a very personal and beautiful reminder: "Spending time in the nurturing environment of nature helped me heal my emotions. My connection between body, mind, and spirit is stronger than it has ever been."

A calm walk in nature can sometime offer healing messages. When I "watch a stream flow around obstacles. I envision myself there, doing the same, imagining obstacles flowing around me effortlessly"

Kris offers this message that is at the very heart of Wind River: Nature can help us reconnect with our soul and help us feel whole, even in the midst of chaos.

TODAY'S SURVIVOR TIP
Related to today's topic, we offer some additional insights from another survivor with action items to experience the richness of the wisdom.

Alumni Kim Mennillo

Kim is a 30+ breast cancer survivor who immediately brightens a room when she walks in. And when she talks about the healing power of nature in her life, she absolutely beams!

Kim's wisdom for us this week is to venture into nature and ....

"Always be open to catching your breath and getting goosebumps when you come upon magnificent, glorious nature scenes. Be a noticer —JOY SPOTTER! — of everything: clouds, sunrises & sunsets, flowers, trees, stars, the moon, rain, babies, animals, people, bugs, EVERYTHING; this helps me remember to take nothing for granted"

As Kim wonderfully reminded us, even the bugs of nature are beautiful
MOMENT OF BLISS

Being in nature has been proven to lower inflammation, calm your resting heart rate, increase your oxygen levels, decrease blood pressure, AND help in the production of the infamous killer T-cells which help fight known and unknown cancer cells in our body!   So find time every day this week to spend 30 minutes in nature and watch the transformation of your body!

And if you are interested in an interesting documentary, skip that evening news or TV show and pop this movie on and learn about EARTHING:

BONUS:
Don't have time to submerge in nature one day?  Relax here to 3 minutes of flowers blooming right before your eyes ....
