#1. Eid ul-Adha Prayer Details

AMA will be offering 3 prayers on Eid ul-Adha this Tuesday, July 20:
  • First Prayer: Takbeer starts at 6:30 AM, prayer begins at 7:00 AM

  • Second Prayer: Takbeer starts at 8:00 AM, prayer begins at 8:30 AM

  • Third Prayer: Takbeer starts at 9:30 AM, prayer begins at 10:00 AM
Please remember to follow the guidelines of wearing a face mask, bringing your prayer mat, social distancing and having your barcodes ready.

Furthermore to accommodate as many congregants as possible, AMA has decided to lower the age limit to permit children 7 years old and elder for Eid prayers only.

#2. Help Us Keep our Masjid Safe for Everyone

With the horrific events that have claimed Muslim lives in Christchurch (New Zealand), Quebec City, Toronto, and London (Canada), Muslims around the world fear for their safety when they come to the masjid.

That’s why one of the greatest priorities for any masjid is safety and security.

Masjid ar-Rahmah (Mosque of Mercy) prides itself on providing a safe, welcoming environment for all people who enter through its doors.

Based on thorough security assessments and audits, we have highlighted enhancements for our security needs. The estimated costs for the upgrades are $200,000. So far we have raised $80,000 (40% of the target already). We need your help to raise the remainder.

Your donation will be used to make the masjid and our community safer.

We want to keep our community safe. We need your help to donate and support our campaign.

We are partnering with Islamic Relief Canada for this special Dhul Hijjah campaign.

They will be matching any funds that are raised for our LaunchGood campaign. For every $2 that is raised, Islamic Relief will add $1.

#3. Reminder to Fast on Arafah Tomorrow

We also would like to encourage the community to observe fasting on the Day of Arafah, which will be on Monday, July 19 insha Allah.

Why should you be fasting on Monday?

The reward for fasting on Arafah is forgiveness for the previous year AND the coming year. You won't want to miss out on this incredible reward.

Make lots of du‘ā because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The best of du‘ā is the du‘ā on the Day of ‘Arafah”.

Our Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: “Fasting the day of ‘Arafah I hope Allah will expiate thereby for the year before it and the year after it, and fasting the day of ‘Ashoora’ I hope Allah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it.” (Saheeh Muslim).

Fasting on the day of Arafah will expiate your sins for the previous year and the coming year, and it is an incredible time to make dua to Allah.

Take advantage of fasting on Monday!

#4. Special Lecture Tomorrow on Monday

AMA is proud to present “Greatest Days of the Year.” It will be a live program taking place on the day of Arafah (9th Day of Dhul Hijjah).

The live program will take place tomorrow on Monday, July 19. We will be joined by 2 esteemed speakers: Shaykh Munir Shalghum and Jalil Marhnouj.

Each of our speakers will tackle an important subject on the theme of what makes Arafah such an important day in the year.

On Arafah it is strongly recommended to increase in our worship, especially to fast on this day and make plenty of dua.

The live program will begin at 6:00 PM. You can enjoy the program in-person at Masjid ar-Rahmah, or you can watch the livestream on our YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Subscribe today so you won't miss the program and our future videos!
