The UK is chairing climate negotiations happening this autumn. Global leaders will meet in Glasgow for the summit, known as COP26, and will decide the continuing fate of the planet.

As extreme weather events become more common, countries that have contributed least to the climate crisis are increasingly feeling its effects. Hit by the pandemic, many of the same countries are already having to divert billions of dollars to paying off mounting debts.
