This summer the Memorials Committee, in honor of those who have died during the pandemic and all the bequests we have received to remember them, installed beautiful new, bright and breezy doors into the church. In honor of the beloved departed, we open wide the doors of the church.
Donate Altar Flowers
As we resume worshipping in the Sanctuary on August 1, we are looking for altar flower donors. Would you like to honor a loved one or celebrate an event?
We have several openings on the 2021 calendar. Gordons Florist provides 2 beautiful arrangements that you can either take home or leave to be shared with others. This opportunity is open to friends of the church as well as members. You can donate just one time or continue the tradition for years.

Circles of Six, a way for our church community to connect during the
challenges of the pandemic, have come to an end. Thank you to all who took part. We talked about Jeremiah and hope, Noah and re-entry, the road to Emmaus and our own experiences of God's presence, Joseph and his
brothers and God using evil for good.
May the connections forged in these groups be a blessing!

Last month, the Sunday school studied mustard seeds and the Mustard seed parable. The mustard seeds were held and cherished as we spoke about our God and all the ways we feel close to God. Then we planted the mustard seeds to see how they, like Faith, can grow. And they are growing!

The Micropantry Is Expanding
Our ministry with emergency food provisions for people in crisis is expanding, and soon we hope to have three micropantries erected in Ipswich.
If you need food, or know a friend who does, come to the Cable Gardens parking lot, and help yourself, or call the church office and we will make sure you get what you need.

We are grateful to begin to plan to read Barack Obama's "A Promised Land" over the summer and discuss it in September.
We might announce a meeting in late summer. Stay tuned!
Please join us, and let Rebecca know if you want to borrow a copy.

Making a Gift to First Church?
To put something in the virtual offering plate or to make a pledge, you can give online. If you prefer to send an e-check from your checking account, you can sign up with your bank (ask us for help if you need it). Of course you are welcome to put a regular check in the mail to the church as well. All offerings will support the ministries of the church to our local community and to the wider world.
