July 2021 Newsletter

We are celebrating neighbors this month as we initiate, support and advance arts and cultural activities in Iredell County! We are pleased to have partnered with wonderful artists, organizations and donors all over our community the first half of this year. Please join us as we seek to find pathways and possibilities that will spread the arts and create uplifting cultural experiences for our neighborhood.

Collaborating with the City of Statesville through Statesville Recreation and Parks has been a wonderful way to spread public art throughout Iredell County's seat. SRPD Director, Richard Griggs, shares our vision of creating a community of art and cultural richness and has joined his department with our organization to develop art programs, paint murals, basketball courts and sewer mounds. We are thankful for this partnership! To read more about the relationship and community benefits, check out the North Carolina Recreation & Park Association's Magazine article on the collaboration here.

Iredell Photography Club
Second and Fourth Mondays each month, 7pm.

The Iredell Photography Club, formed in 1986, was created to promote the advancement of photography as an art. The purpose of the club is to bring together people who are dedicated to the advancement of their skills with a wide range of photographic experience and interest. The club exists to offer opportunities for all to share knowledge within the club and in the community, through exhibitions and programs that excite interest in the knowledge and practice of all branches of photography. Follow the IPC on Meetup to learn of photography opportunities.

The IPC has begun meeting at the Arts Council and we look forward to the possibilities this may bring for our community. Meetings held the second and fourth Monday of the month, guests welcome.
