Hello Everyone,

We’ve been staying busy up here in the land of the midnight sun! We spent just over a week in Galena at the end of June,  a village of about 500 on the Yukon River, working alongside a work team there. We helped with several projects such as an engine swap on a four wheeler, building a handicap deck for the local church, painting the parsonage, and helping the pastor's family prepare for winter. We loved our time there, and were super encouraged to see the Lord moving in that community.

From Galena we flew to McGrath, a village of about 300 on the Kuskokwim River, and stayed there the whole month of July. We stayed very busy helping another missionary pilot/mechanic couple with a few different aircraft maintenance projects. We also were able to help renovate a community lodge that has been damaged by fire but has recently been purchased by a local mission group to be used for ministry, and helped build a woodshed for a long time missionary family. The last two weeks of July we helped run a Bible camp for kids from McGrath and the nearby villages. We helped fly kids in and out, and ran the camp as counsellors and leaders. It was a lot of fun but pretty exhausting work. It was a privilege to see the work God is doing in the community of McGrath through the local church and Bible camp.
From McGrath we flew back to Anchorage to attend the Send North annual conference. It's good to be back on the road system after a few months in the bush! We really enjoyed the conference, it was a good time of rest, renewal, and fellowship for us. It was also good for us to see some of how Send operates as an organization and how decisions are made within the organization. Last week we worked on a project in the Send North hangar here in Anchorage. We plan to stay in Alaska a few more weeks visiting a couple other mission aviation organizations and helping out where we can before heading back to the lower 48 (or "outside" as they call it here.)

Some specific prayer requests:
  • Wisdom and discernment as we search God's will for our future in full time ministry
  • Safety as we travel and fly
  • For the Lord to continue moving people's hearts to join us in financial partnership

As always, thank you all so much for your prayer and support on this journey. We will continue to keep you all updated and we're excited to see where the Lord takes us next!
Love,
Matt & Abi
