Celebrating the Promise of Resurrection for
The Rev. Theodore “Ted” Kalkwarf

Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2 pm

Ted, a retired ELCA pastor and active member of Christ the King for the past several years, died on May 19, 2020, in the earliest phase of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. More than a year later—and on what would have been Ted’s 81st Birthday—we gather to celebrate Ted’s life and ministry, to support his family in their continued grief, and most of all to claim on Ted’s behalf Christ's promise of resurrection and new life made to Ted in his baptism.

Please join us for a service of Holy Communion in the CtK Sanctuary at 2 pm on Monday, August 9th. At the close of the service, worshippers will be invited to process to the CtK Columbarium, and add a prayer rock to the Cairn Prayer Garden. A simple outdoor reception will follow near Door 4.

All are welcome to attend the service and masks are required for both the vaccinated and unvaccinated while indoors.

As we celebrate the promise of resurrection to new life for Ted, our prayers for comfort and peace go out to his entire family, and especially to his wife, Alice.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?"
John 14:1-2
