Sunday (August 1st) is Respect for Fish Day. More than 250 organizations have signed on to promote this second annual event initiated by In Defense of Animals. There's lots of ways to participate!
On Sunday evening, Fish Feel's Mary Finelli will be a panel member for a webinar about The Dark Hobby, a new documentary about the cruel devastation caused by the aquarium industry. Mary will be announcing the new coalition, Stop Betta Sales, and its upcoming Betta Advocacy Week.
Later next week, Mary will be discussing fishes, fishing, and fish farming as part of Animal Place’s Farmed Animal Conference E-Summit. Fishes and other aquatic animals are by far the largest number of farmed animals, and we're so glad for this opportunity to advocate for them. The Summit runs from August 2-8, and Mary will be featured on Friday (8/6). Free registration: www.facesummit.org
