  • Heart Failure (July 1) Sex Differences in the Prevention and Management of Heart Failure. From Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association. Review the disparities in the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure, with a keen focus on health equity, artificial intelligence (AI), and the inclusion of women in clinical trials. Non-member Cost: $0. Credits: 0.75 CE contact hours. Course Overview: In this free continuing education course covering the sex differences in heart failure, Mariell Jessup, MD, reviews disparities in the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure. This heart failure continuing education course has a keen focus on health equity, artificial intelligence (AI), and the inclusion of women in clinical trials.

  • HDSP (July)Interactive Atlas of Heart Disease and Stroke. CDC Website. The Atlas of Heart Disease and Stroke allows users to create and customize county-level maps of mortality, hospitalizations, socioeconomic conditions, health care resources, risk factors, and more. New Data:  Risk Factors  (high cholesterol, smoking),  CVD Prevalence  (coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke), and Health Care Delivery  (self-reported blood pressure medication use, cholesterol screening). These new data are from the PLACES project. Updated Data:  Cardiovascular disease mortality and hospitalization, medication nonadherence, cardiac rehabilitation utilization,  stroke center locations, hospital locations, and FQHCs have all been updated with the most current data available. New Overlay Features:  American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian areas, U.S.-Mexico Border counties, and the ability to highlight county level data by urban/rural status and poverty level have been added.
