As COVID-19 infections decline, some normalcy is returning to our lives. Life at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum has kicked into high gear with the return of our weekly Friday BBQ’s, increased volume of visitors, and the very popular Tiger Moth rides. If all goes as planned, the Harvard will also be flying museum guests in August.
The countdown has started for the biggest summer event at the museum
Aviation Days, August 28 to 29, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
The museum will be hosting a weekend of aviation history, with:
museum planes on display as well as general aviation planes,
guest displays including Stars, Air Ambulance, a water bomber, the airport fire truck, and possibly Saskatoon Police Service airplane
classic automobiles on display
gift shop sales
Tracker engine run ups
flights in the Tiger Moth and Harvard.
We anticipate 2,500 guests passing through the gates. To host this weekend we need approximately 70 member volunteers to assist in various areas such as: custodial and yard cleanup, food services, gate admissions, parking, set up and take down, raffle ticket sales.
I am reaching out to you to join the Aviation Days team as a volunteer. To be a volunteer for this event, you are required to:
Register by Friday, August 20. Advance registration will facilitate scheduling.
Be a current member of the museum. Memberships can be renewed/purchased on-line or at the museum ($50.00 for and individual and $85 for a family).
