"The purpose for which said corporation is formed is as follows: To build up the character and cultivate the truest and deepest friendship among its members.”
Those handwritten words on that simple piece of paper set into motion the sisterhood hundreds of thousands of members have experienced for almost 120 years. On October 24, 1902, Delta Zeta’s founding was officially recognized by the State of Ohio with the Articles of Incorporation filed in Butler County. This was the moment that our Sorority became a legal entity, a recorded fact.
To celebrate, join our Phoenix Alumnae chapter members and Pi Zeta collegians (ASU) on October 23 to Celebrate Delta Zeta Founders Day. More details in calendar section.

Our September selection to read is The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. The day the feds raid his high-tech firm, Owen disappears and leaves behind his new wife, Hannah, with $600,000 in cash, his sullen teenager Bailey, and a hand-scrawled note: “Protect her.” The rapid-fire pacing never lets up as Hannah delves into Owen’s past and excavates layer after layer of lies, discovering truths even Bailey never knew—as well as a lethal enemy. Interweaving the complex family relationships of Little Fires Everywhere with the suspenseful twists of Big Little Lies, The Last Thing He Told Me will trigger goosebumps and tears as you flip pages like mad to see how Hannah will handle the bombshells lurking in Bailey’s past.—Adrian Liang, Amazon Book Review
Our August book was Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Even if you have not read the book you are invited to join us for the discussion of it on September 7th. Our monthly book is chosen based on conversation starting story lines with women at the heart of the story. We always meet the first Tuesday of the month. It's Giving Back
Have you given to PBS or anything else you believe in and want it to continue. Our own DZ alumna, Judith Hardes was featured in the PBS Channel 8 magazine as she supports PBS and many other organizations she believes in and wants them to continue.
Thanks Judith for being such a great role model in "giving graciously". Judith is a firm believer in giving back. Delta Zetas are too!
If you have "news", please share with your DZ sisters. Send info and photos to
Editor: Susan Norman at: dzarizona@cox.net
All info is due on the 25th day before each month.

We like to think of September as the month of apples as apple-picking becomes a common weekend pastime.
Are you baking an apple pie
this month?
Enjoy the Fall season and share some pie or time
with your
Delta Zeta sisters.
