InclusiveFUTURES Highlights:

Our aim at DigitalFUTURES is to democratize architectural education by making important educational ideas available for free to architects and students across the globe, regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, age or economic standing. Education, we believe, should be a human right, and not a privilege of the wealthy. 

InclusiveFUTURES (12 June - 4 July) was the 2021 edition of the annual DigitalFUTURES event which consisted of 100 free workshops, digital consortium lectures, 3rd Annual CDRF conference, opening and Closing ceremony where awards were presented and an exhibition of the workshop results. 

The series was initiated in 2011 as a collaboration between the American Academy in China and Tongji University, Shanghai. In 2020 DigitalFUTURES broke new ground, and became a global, online event, attracting over 12,000 applications. In 2021 InclusiveFUTURES set a host of new records in terms not only of its size, but also - importantly - its inclusivity. The workshops were taught in 9 different languages, by instructors from over 30 countries. Indeed, inclusivity became the central theme in an event that sought to overcome global divisions, and bring together architects and students from all over the world.
