200 newsletters - thanks for continuing to read!
Thank you for reading our 200th Team Blyth newsletter, which has gone out every Sunday evening for nearly 4 years. There have been many amazing memories recorded in these newsletter, and we are sure there will be many more in the future :-) This week, see below reports from another amazing week of action, and we sincerley hope you are all being inspired by the amazing feats from athletes all around the world in the Olympics, accross all sports and disciplines. Below is what our first newsletter looked like!
Summer Cup - Niamh and Lauren tear up South Beach!
Niamh and Lauren took part in the clubs Summer Cup season opener on Wednesday, which is a series of races over 5km at Blyth South Beach. Going up against 75 of the clubs seniors, the girls put in fantastic performances with Lauren recording a time of 16:03, 11th fastest overall, and Niamh 17:48 for 18th overall.
Our parkrun report returns for the first time since Covid hit! Well done to all our athletes who participated this week, with Niamh Adams first female home at Whitley Bay!
Several of our older juniors were an integral part of our senior league team that today finished a brilliant 2nd in the final league match at Morpeth. Full results yet to appear, but Chloe, Adam, Matthew, Alfie and Josh all produced many fine performances, with reports coming through of PB's, victories and even some club records.
ENGLAND ATHLETICS Age Group Championships - PREVIEW
Next weekend the England Athletics U15/U17 championships take place in Manchester, with no few than 4 Blyth Juniors taking part. Whilst we have had a small number achieve the entry standards and take part in these champs in years gone by, to have 4 athletes taking part next weekend is a testament to the hard work of the athletes and to the opportunities that are available to our juniors. Our team will be Luke Pichler (U15 Hurdles + High Jump), Millie Wilkinson (U15 100m), Emily Bond (U15 75m Hurdles), Hannah Wilson (U15 200m). For all these athletes it is their first year in age group, so this is very much a learning year, but we are certain they will do themselves proud.
This is your chance to recognise the role of volunteers in out sport  DETAILS

We are delighted to be able to launch the Team Blyth kit range! https://www.kitlocker.com/yourclub/club/team-blyth...

A huge thanks to Michael McKenna for setting this up, and Ross Pichler for the graphic design.

Please double check the sizes as nothing can be returned with them having logos and possibly initials on too. If it doesn’t state men’s or women’s on a particular item, it will be based on male sizing so girls might need to go down a size.
We have an upgraded website. www.teamblyth.com. Watch out for exciting additions in the coming months, including an athlete portal!
