Happy August! We hope you've been enjoying the summer so far. As COVID restrictions lift, we are looking forward to welcoming you back to The Pyramid.

Over the past few weeks, we've been busy with our fun-filled Summer of Play sessions - now into their penultimate week - being enjoyed by many local children. (You can still book morning or afternoon activity sessions for 6-12 year olds by clicking the link above!)

We're planning for our September Weekend Community Festival, as well as looking forward to the first phase of building works which will see improved access throughout the building and many of our community spaces upgraded. We're also going to be hosting Scottish Opera's Pop Up Opera on Monday 13 September – look out for more details on that soon!

My name is Kate Drummond, and I have recently joined Team Pyramid. My official job title is Community Builder - but I'm not going to be laying any bricks! I'm here to build community connections and develop projects and activities in our building (and in the wider area) that harness and celebrate local voices, talents and energy. 

We want our building to be a vibrant, open and welcoming space for the local community. If you have hobbies, skills or interests that you would like to share or have ideas for events, programmes or clubs that could run in the Pyramid, I'd love to hear from you. Coming Up! Community Festival Weekend | 24 - 26 Sept, 2021

Our Community Festival will take place over the September weekend - beginning with a Bollywood night on Friday 24 September, in partnership with Glasgow Film Theatre (postponed from March 2020!) We'll be showing a Bollywood classic in its original language, with food and entertainment.

Then on Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 September - The Pyramid will be bustling with an amazing array of events, performances, activities, demonstrations, special guests plus – hopefully – live music, and food. We'll be posting updates on our social media channels over the next few weeks!

Get Involved! Anderston Green Spaces
We helped to host the first Anderston Green Spaces meet-up - on the corner of Elderslie & William Street - on Wed 21 July. At the event we made paper flowers and ‘planted’ them in the disused ground where the meeting was being held, and asked people about what they thought about the public spaces in and around where they live, and how they could be made to look and feel better. The group are keen to start gardening and growing projects in and around some of the under-used public spaces in Anderston, and will be meeting up again soon. Glasgow's Pre-loved School Uniforms | DONATE or COLLECT 

Glasgow's Pre Loved Uniforms SCIO sc050048 collect outgrown school uniform items and supply anyone in Glasgow who needs uniform, laundered and ready to wear, good as new!

DONATE : drop off any school uniform items - blazers, shirts, ties, skirts, trousers, gym kit, plus coats, jackets and footwear to us next week. Tues 3 - Fri 6 Aug  |  9.30am - 4pm 

COLLECT FREE ITEMS : from The Pyramid on WED 11 AUG |  2 - 4pm or contact GPSU directly with your requests. This is FREE for all and covers every school in Glasgow!

We also have free period products and period underwear for any girls and women who need them – come along and pick up what you need.
