Meet at 11:00am, wheels down at 11:30am
South end of Queensbridge Park, near Vernon Blvd and the Queensbridge Park Greenway

Ride along with Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT-NYC) and WE Bike NYC for an epic bike ride through Queens!

For this ride, we are joined by staff from NYC DOT and volunteers from the 34th Ave Open Streets Coalition. They will guide us through the borough and showcase several of their recent projects, including the hugely successful 34th Avenue Open Street! We’ll gain insights into the implementation of bicycle infrastructure from conception to fruition.

We’ll begin this ~5 mile ride at Queensbridge Park and ride through Astoria, Woodside, and finally end in Jackson Heights.

After the ride, stick around to join fellow YPT and WE Bike NYC members for drinks and snacks in Jackson Heights.

What to bring: Helmet, mask, sunscreen, money for food/drinks, full water bottles.

Note: This is an all-gender ride open to bicyclists of all experience levels.

Meet a WE Biker: Chantal Hardy

Every volunteer brings something special to our organization. And WE count on them—whether they’re leading our rides, writing our newsletters, responding to mail, building our website. This month's volunteer is Chantal Hardy. Get to know Chantal here!

What was your first WE Bike NYC ride?
It was the WE Ride the Rapha Women's 100K -- 60 miles roundtrip. I was shy but everyone was so friendly and welcoming!

What’s your favorite route?
The North and South Country rail trails connecting Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx to the Putnam County trail in Westchester. Picturesque and protected!

What do you ride?
Three (!!!) bikes: a Redline 925 single speed commuter with bullhorn handlebars, a Trek Lexa road bike, and an All City Space Horse for touring

Why do you love WE Bike NYC?
I moved back to NYC from Boston a few years ago and am grateful to the diverse, supportive WE Bike NYC community for becoming my second family!
