SUMMER GREETINGS🌞

It continues to be hot in Cambodia and the rest of the northern hemisphere but it was a great break to check out the Olympics this past few weeks. We didn't get to watch a lot as our focus was on TukTuk for any spare minute when not tending to little Milly.

However, we did not miss the Cambodian National Team's swimming race! No matter which country was represented, the athletes were very inspirational and a great distraction from other problems in the world. The Paralympics are coming up soon too and of course, we're cheering for everyone... (but seriously hope Australia, Japan, and Cambodia wins...😎)

NEW RESOURCE PACKAGE

The Resource Package for TukTuk's original picture book "What Are You Good At?" was finally completed! It includes activities, music, and worksheets related to the story that will inspire children to explore their talents in a fun way!

In addition to this picture book, this package includes 14 related activities, 3 songs (with dance videos), 1 board game, and 13 worksheets. The animation is in also in English and can be viewed on
YouTube - please take a look for yourself👀

We've begun working on another new book since last month we hope you're looking forward to it as well!

PATIENTLY AWAITING SCHOOL OPENING...👩🏽‍🏫

Recently the Delta variant has been prevalent in Cambodia, and travel around Pursat has become more restricted. The vaccination for 12-17-year-olds began from this month in the main provinces, it's said that schools starting up again above junior high school level from next month at the earliest. Primary schools and preschools are still undecided, though many teachers continue to teach today by distributing worksheets provided by TukTuk. Some of them use group chats as well as social media sites like Facebook where parents can share the children's progress and mark their homework.

We would like to take a moment to reflect on the perseverance of the teachers of Cambodia. In some of the more rural areas, it is extremely difficult to get to all the children and with limited internet and access to technology, the task is more daunting. However they are still working hard every day to ensure the kids get what education they can with the limited resources available to them.

KHMER OF THE MONTH

Khmer Word: Heltuk
To celebrate the Cambodian Olympic team, the word for this month is in honor of 2 of the athletes and an activity that Khmer kids love to do! The word of the month means "swim." The team this year managed to break their personal best records 🏊🏅

Khmer Food: Trei Ngeat (Dried fish)👇

TUKTUK TEACHING MATERIALS GO GLOBAL!🌍

Thanks to the support of the TukTuk Krousah, our voluntukers, and the dedication of our staff, we have now completed 5 Tukbooks with Resource Packages and other additional teaching materials.

Did you know that they are now available in English as well?

You can find them for sale at "
Teachers Pay Teachers" and we are excited about the potential of having a new income stream. This is particularly important in the current tough funding climate. Of course The Khmer version's will always be free for the people and teachers of Cambodia 🥰

Our voluntuker Sara introduced in
TukTalk 42, created an English version of the Khmer worksheet and Aubrey who appeared last month is responsible for uploading it to the site with a little help from Rob, another voluntuker. It's still in testing mode but several worksheets have already been sold!

We are so glad to be able to provide teaching materials that will make it easier for teachers all over the world. We hope you can share these with your friends and anyone who needs them!
