Current Tax Rate- $.761240
Proposed Tax Rate- $.711493
Difference of 4.9 cents

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, the Mayor and City Council reviewed the City Manager's FY 2022 Proposed Budget and available options on the Property Tax Rate.
Mayor Hollarn and City Council have proposed a tax rate of $.711493 for FY 2022.

The Joshua Tax Rate has not been below the proposed tax rate since 2013. As a reminder, last year, the Mayor and City Council adopted the very first Homestead Exemption for Joshua residents.

The Appraisal District sets the value of Taxable Property each year. The City determines only the tax rate and has no control over the Appraisals.

Elected Officials and City Staff Members worked very hard over the past several months to find ways of not increasing taxes and to provide better service to the citizens.
