CDC Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People
Summary of Recent Changes as of July 27th
- Updated information for fully vaccinated people given new evidence on the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant currently circulating in the United States.
- Added a recommendation for fully vaccinated people to wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission.
- Added information that fully vaccinated people might choose to wear a mask regardless of the level of transmission, particularly if they are immunocompromised or at increased risk for severe disease from COVID-19, or if they have someone in their household who is immunocompromised, at increased risk of severe disease or not fully vaccinated.
- Added a recommendation for fully vaccinated people who have a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 to be tested 3-5 days after exposure, and to wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result.

August 2nd-6th marked the 3rd Olympic games for NSIV. Members and graduates alike competed in events like trashcan basketball, pipette tip archery, and paper plate discus. Some traveled from as far away as San Serriff, and others from Elbonia, an impoverished western European country in the Dilbert universe. Fun was had by all.

Congratulations to HepatoChem, Inc., a leading manufacturer of photochemistry reactors, LEDs and accessories, for its new patent which is directed to the assembly of a device that allows for conducting arrays of photochemical reaction conditions at room temperature with magnetic stirring. This newly allowed patent is owned by HepatoChem, Inc., and is their first U.S. patent in connection with their photoreactor devices.

Battery maker SES Holdings Pte has agreed to go public by merging with Ivanhoe Capital Acquisition Corp. in a deal that will value the combined company at about $3.6 billion. Singapore-based SES, which makes hybrid lithium-metal rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles, currently has prototypes almost ready for Hyundai and General Motors, according to Qichao, Hu, founder and chief executive officer of SES, and the partnership with nickel-producer Ivanhoe will be highly strategic.

The North Shore Technology Council is hosting a free virtual networking event. The event will take place from 5:00-5:45 PM on August 26th.

The Angel Investor Tax Credit program continues to accept applications for its second round. The program encourages investment throughout the Commonwealth and in our gateway municipalities. The program will offer two deadlines to apply and will remain open for the second deadline only if the funding cap has not been reached. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Deadline of October 29, 2021 at noon EST for submission of applications for qualifying investments made during the period January 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021.
- Deadline of January 14, 2022 at noon EST for submission of applications for qualifying investments made during the period October 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
