This Wednesday!
Scotchtown and Red Hill are teaming up to take a closer look at primary source documentation from the time periods when Patrick Henry lived in these two locations. What stories do surviving documents tell us about enslaved men, women and children and Henry family members who lived at Scotchtown and Red Hill? Guest panelists from Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown include Erin Turbeville, Interpreter, and Lea Lane, Curator of Collections. Red Hill-Patrick Henry National Memorial is represented by Mark Couvillon, noted Henry historian and author, and Caitlin Curtis, Director of Education & Donor Systems.

This online program is free but registration is required.

Preservation Virginia membership cards are a passport to history. Our newly designed membership cards include the logos of all six historic sites we open to the public: Bacon's Castle, Cape Henry Lighthouse, Patrick Henry's Scotchtown, Historic Jamestowne, the John Marshall House and Smith's Fort. Members receive free or discounted admission to all six sites, and each time you visit, your card will be stamped. We hope you'll visit all six!

Your membership does so much to preserve the places that make Virginia unique. Your support helps with advocacy in local, state and federal government, outreach to communities facing preservation issues, active archaeological investigations and the creation of educational resources for students and teachers.

Thank you so much! Our work across the entire Commonwealth is only possible because of you. Get your history passport today!
