Dear Friends,
You may have heard that Fr. Schwab took a fall at the end of Mass yesterday and broke his hip. He is having surgery today, which will be followed by 3-4 days in hospital, and then 2-4 weeks recovering in a rehab care center.
He requests that you not visit or call him, but he does request your prayers. If you wish to give him a card or letter you can send it to him care of St. Charles Parish, 5310 NE 42nd Ave, Portland, OR 97218.
Needless to say, our plans for his last mass + reception this next weekend must be postponed. After he recovers, we will figure out the best way to celebrate him.
Our new priest, Fr. Charles Holden will be our presider this weekend, and for the foreseeable future.
