It's Official - Chains Are Now Eligible to Create Posts via Google's API
Google has permanently unlocked access to the GMB Posts feature for chains via API (H/T to Mike Blumenthal from Near Media). 

Google temporarily lifted the Posts restrictions for chains with 10+ locations on March 27, 2020, with the release of new features to help businesses keep their GMB listing accurate and up-to-date during the pandemic. 

Now it's official: chains can continue to efficiently create and scale Post content on their GMB listings via API access. 

The good news follows a string of enhancements around the Posts feature, including: 

  • Added functionality to create and edit Posts directly in Search and Maps,
  • Google displaying when a new Message in GMB is from Posts,
  • and new research showing that Post Justifications are only triggered for content published within the last 60 days.
