We’d like to highlight two events happening next week.

The 15th Annual Duwamish River Festival at South Park Plaza will celebrate 20 years of community coming together to support a River For All! As in previous years, the 2021 festival will feature a family-friendly mix of activities, arts, culture and entertainment to celebrate and nurture the creation of a healthy Duwamish River.

The event brings communities together to celebrate our diversity and the cleanup and restoration of the Duwamish River. Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy interactive educational booths, Mercadito local vendors, youth art activities, free vaccination and health clinic, free air filters, dance, music and hear from special guests.

The FREE festival goes from 12:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday August 7, 2021. The festival will begin at 12:00pm, with an opening ceremony led by the Duwamish Tribe.

The Emerald Alliance and key partners invite you to a webinar featuring an update on the innovative funding for conservation efforts underway across central Puget Sound; efforts that address forest health, salmon recovery, agriculture protection, urban parks & forestry and other open space and natural infrastructure enhancements. This is the third in a series of discussions to strategically bring together partners across Puget Sound (government and Tribal leaders, project developers, land and resource managers and NGOs) to identify opportunities to leverage innovative tools and funding approaches to advance more intentional regional collaboration on land conservation priorities outlined in the Regional Open Space Conservation Plan.
Register here!

What you will hear during this webinar:
  • a refresher and updates about Puget Sound Regional Council’s 2018 Regional Open Space Conservation Plan (ROSCP)
  • the results of an analysis of funding for conservation acquisitions and easements developed as part of an emerging Implementation Strategy of the ROSCP
  • from King County staff about measures of progress of the Land Conservation Initiative
  • from Snohomish County staff about its emerging Land Conservation Initiative
  • about an AG protection collaborative in Pierce County.
