I already wrote about Friday's spectacular fishing.

So what can top that? Well there was that "Experimental Offshore Flounder Trip" on Saturday that resulted in ZERO FLOUNDER! After a couple of hours of dropping, drifting and not catching (except for some red hake), I went to a cod spot that was only a few miles away and in about an hour and a half we had over a dozen keeper cod along with a good amount (60% of the limit in an hour and a half??) of jumbo sea bass.
Bob, Ali, Jim, Lori, Liam and Tom all went home with 2 gallon bags of fillets of healthy cod, sea bass and hake, as well as some jumbo porgies that found their way into the box.
Note that there was a small GWS (about 8 ft) hanging around the boat for a good 45 minutes, possibly even two the same size.

On Sunday, Carlos and "the krew" of Gilbert, Lou, Edwardo, Jeff and Silberio had "deteriorating conditions" (it was getting windier and lumpier by the minute) as they got 25 of their 30 sea bass before I scampered into the river to chunk up a keeper striper (and a short) to top off the fillets.
All the Coxes Ledge Trips are completely booked except for a couple of spots on the 31st so I am, as of now adding a date: 08/27 for The Coxes Schedule.
Cod and Mahi are the top targets and sea bass, flounder and "other stuff" are always lurking nearby and often end up in the box. These trips are 6am-1pm at $175/person. For "Regular Inshore Open Boat" (Thursday mornings at 7am-noon. $125/person), there is still one spot for this Thursday, 07/29 and spots available for every Thursday in August except for 08/12 which is full.
All open boat trips are "by reservation only".
Please include your name and phone# when scheduling.

Thank you!
